Service Description
Course Description: The Community Oriented Government (COG), or Community Oriented Policing (COP), course is designed to introduce law enforcement, government and community leaders to the philosophy, concepts of COP for 2015. The COP philosophy is implemented in the ENTIRE Department creating trust, reducing crime, fear, red tape and improving the safety and the quality of life for all. Course Objectives: The overall goal of the program is to teach the principles of COP/G and present a framework for instituting this philosophy in your area. Upon completion of this instruction, the participant will know: • The evolution of policing in America history; How we got to today. • Roles & responsibilities in a COP/G: Law Enforcement, Government and Community • The three pillars of COP Partnerships, Organizational Change & Problem Solving, Addressing • Myths of COP • Proven tools of COP/G to reduce crime, fear, establish better relations, SOLVE CRIMES and get dangerous criminals off the street • S.A.R.A. Problem Solving Model, and start application on a local problem • How to apply “Broken Windows” in your community • Identify the local “Key Players” for partnerships Recommended Audience: The 8 hour version of this course is best taugh to a mixed group of Law Enforcement Officers/Supervisors, Government and Citizens. The overview for CEOs and supervisors can be taught in 4 hours. Interacting with the Public in a Positive Way is recommended for front line officers who need communication skills coaching - not COP/G.
